The Masterworks series includes four epic choral masterworks revealed from the inside out. These are public lectures and interviews with notable local and international artists, discussing important masterworks from the choral-orchestral repertoire.

The MASTERWORKS SERIES includes the following virtual workshops:

2. Wednesday, October 21, 7 PM. MISSA SOLEMNIS – L.V. BEETHOVEN. Guest: Duain Wolfe, Chorus Master - Chicago Symphony Orchestra

3. Wednesday, November 18, 7 PM. ELIJAH – FELIX MENDELSSOHN. Guest: Russell Braun, baritone

4. Wednesday December 16, 7 PM. CHRISTMAS ORATORIO – JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH. Guests: Suzie LeBlanc, soprano and expert in early music

Since its inaugural concert in 1941, the Ottawa Choral Society has evolved into one of Canada’s most ambitious and accomplished large choruses. With more than one hundred and twenty auditioned voices, the Society presents a rich tapestry of sacred and secular masterpieces, focussing on choral excellence, and challenging, innovative programming.
